Michael Hassett an Artisan Master Baker established his first bakery in 1984 originally in Donnybrook Douglas supplying wholesale confectionery to retailers. He opened his first retail shop in Douglas Village shopping centre in 1986, and continued to expand the business with the opening of a new bakery and retail shop in Main Street Carrigaline. This allowed Michael to add handcrafted breads and breakfast pastries to the product range. In 2007 the production was moved to a new purpose built bakery in Carrigaline and the retail shop in the main street was revamped and what was the old bakery, now hosts a cafe with seating for thirty people and a retail bakery. The wholesale side of the business continues to grow supplying customers daily in the retail, restaurant and hotel industries. With a staff of twenty, the product range has also continued to grow now producing over fifty different products every day. Hassetts Bakery continuously strives to maintain the quality and freshness of our products and with our bakers and pastry chefs coming from all corners of the world, innovation and creativity is encouraged and developed under the guidance of our Artisan Master Baker.
